Democrats like JFK, got US involved in French Indo China. Bombing Ho Ci Min trail in Cambodia was not new. Let's not put this one on Republicans. Financial profts are not achieved by "winning wars" but by waging wars, one must diversify the investments portfilio amoung all of the belligrents. (both sides) and then some.

Ray, both parties are to blame going back to Woodrow Wilson. I'm a decorated Vietnam Vet and I've been studying the history of Vietnam ever since I returned in 1968. There's a whole lot more to this story than most people know about. There's a book entitled "Heroes' that I suggest you check out---Thanks !!

I was there at Kent State on May 4, 1970. I was a student (1968-1971) and I enjoyed being a Kent State all four years -- except on this horrible day. Pray for the USA, please.

Bobby Kennedy would not have invaded Cambodia. Bastard Sirhan Sirhan should have been executed 5 decades ago. Instead we use taxpayers money to keep his old Ass alive. I wonder what that Fascist Bitch would have said if her son or daughter would have been shot. More students should have been shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We shoot the wrong people.

Girl in my off campus house, Nikki HELPED TO CUT the fire hoses on Sat. I did not in any way agree with that ........ I was AIR FORCE ROTC my first year at Kent, and then dropped out after a year..... In 70 , Joined the 104th. engr. BN out of Teaneck , NJ so I would not get my head blown off in the Nam... did my 6 years, 70 to 76.

Just know, at that time those who would later promote the fraud so called potus bama for Senate and later the postus were fully active to create the perfect Manchurian candidate now know as the seditious and treasonous Bama ... One who now belongs in prison for life at the minimum or executed for his attempted destruction of our Nation , as provided for under the US CONSTITUTION...... I PRAY the BAMA is soon gone and in the most hot and dark places of HELL. was wel known he was an Indonesian since the 80's and not EVER eligible to be a legitimate potus.

I was there that day, saw most of it , and all that happened in the days before. Was to testify in NY for the sister of one of the girls who were killed reg, the gunman who WAS NOT a GUARDSMAN .. COMMIE POS BITCH of the fraud OBAMINATION ADMINISTRATION killed the investigation, so, I never did testity in court as to what I knew.. I know way , way more, than what is presented more... It took me decades to get over the wounded and the deaths I saw that day , including one guy I met about a week before at JB'S bar... almost all shot and killed were 100 PER CENT INNOCENT ....... THE martial law put in place was not full martial law... Jeff was the guy I met, Allysyn was one I tried to get into the shooting area to try to render first aid.. shot in the gut, saw her up close..... I was to testify for her sister , but Holder, of the fraud Obamination administration killed any further investigations ......... I will spit on Holder's AND the BAMA'S GRAVE if I ever get a chance...... Ken ex. 104th. ENGR. BN , 1970 -76 TRAINED AT FORT Leaonard Wood , MO.. yes ,was there at KENT and graduated from Kent, did not want to get my heard blown off in the Nam my first day , so, applied for a OH Nat'l Guard Unit and one in my birth town of Teaneck in NJ ...... I have seen both sides so if you care to troll me , I do not care...... Just know , I saw it all and you likely did not and this vid covers very , very little, and would help you all before you send any stupid and ignorant troll comments, to read fully, James Mitchner's book KENT STATE ........ and KNOW, THAT I have about 100% or more info than just about anyone reading my comments....... Ok, IN REALITY 1000 % more info........ so those on both sides, get educated fully before you make comments.. before you post very stupid comments... I will NOT tolerate ignorant TROLLS.

To the cowards who shot their rifles at unarmed American students (and you know who you are), just remember why these innocent students began protesting in the first place... they were marching for the lives of American troops (like you) who were dying for no good reason in S.E. Asia! I only wish it were you who were illegally in Cambodia getting cut down for nothing, you know... "just following orders."

Payton Pringle (11 месяцев назад)
Crazy how many ignorant nationalistic patriots are all for killing and destruction, when another country bears the brunt of the chaos, but the second their own country's citizens become aware of those atrocities, and include (to a much lesser degree), that same violent sentiment in protest to those money wars, they're all "degenerates". Nationalistic idealism that any "god" would bless a country based on their militaristic ability to kill, and then actually have the gull to think that makes one heroic or manly, should be classified as a mental disorder right next to schizophrenia. If you were any more dulled down, it to the reality of how hypocritical you sound when saying you're Christian, or for "Freedom of all people, your only vocal rebuttal would be the sound of a gun shot.

There's nothing more braindead and dangerous than a nationalist who thinks that glory entails pointless violence, to cover up for lack of critical thinking skills. That and the belief that a fake god would bless a country's military. That's just brain-dead, and the sad fact is, there aren't even drugs needed to make someone that out of touch with reality, just patriotic parents, and a small-town mindset.
Diane Love (1 год назад)
It’s funny how this documentary make the students sound so dangerous. Lol...oh the national guard was nervous? It’s just making or trying to make it seem like the shootings were just...give me a break lol..they were protesting a good cause...they were not killing anyone..yes they broke windows set fires..they were not hurting or killing anyone. I recall as a child of 8 or 9 being asked in school to pick a capital and explain how the people there lived and bring in some food that they would eat and so forth, and I chose Cambodia. Little did I know that 10 or so years later they would be killing each other and piling up skulls. The same bags of shit that want to protect the world then as now will only help to lead to the destruction of many, many innocents. Wake up Kent State. You have all the freedom this world allows. Run with it. Stop stepping on your dicks.

Trouble making hippie draft dodgers found out why it's not a good idea to throw rocks at police and national guard. Too bad the national guard didn't waste em all! As for the two that were killed that weren't part of the riot, it's sad, but they should have had the better scene than to be in the middle of that. I'm not convinced they were "innocent." yesorlando05 (1 год назад)
I was a child at the time and remember seeing the news reports on TV. Over the years, I've seen tons of documentaries giving all points of view. Trust me, there was plenty of blame to go around in this tragic incident. A LOT led up to this shooting. Many of these students and radicals who try to come across as martyrs and as pure as the driven snow laid the foundation for this whole mess. But the guardsmen were clearly in the wrong in this specific incident for overreacting in such a deadly way. The ones responsible should've been charged criminally. Nevertheless, there is no way ever that I will see the instigators (the radicalized students) as being the innocent little lambs fighting for "justice" that they attempt to portray themselves as. If they would've protested peacefully the previous days leading to this, this would almost certainly wouldn't have happened. There's some blood on their hands as well.

glad you can envision how things happen through storytelling. Because of course, an entire college campus wouldn't be closed just for a protest on a fraction of its grounds. And there are several buildings around that area that, believe it or not, are used for dormitories and for classes.

Contact me after May 11 or so, as I have been kicked off fascistic book again.. I was one of those who tried to get in to give first aid to Allison .. Many already around giving first aid , but, sadly saw her from 3 feet away ... She was a beautiful person, though I never knew her personally ... she was about peace and love , and wanting to get along for all of humanity ... Sadly , she died, her sister contacted me years later after I posted on a KsU memorial site.. She wanted me to testify in NYC as to the gunman ( who pulled the gun on me about 15 min . before the shooting.. ) I was to testify and Eric Holder, the POS, KILLED THE INVESTIGATION, otherwise I would have testified to Kunsler, the ATTY. I think his name was.. so, to this day, knowing the guy from info I got years back, I do know that this guy with a gun, may have been the one to trigger the shooting at KsU.. I graduated late due to the shootings in May, 1970 .. Prayers and blessings for you .. Ken in NJ.

+STFU768 Vietnam was an unjust political war we know that now, how can you possibly win a war by fighting with one arm tied behind your back and lack of resources to do the job? How can you win a war when you can't see the enemy? We never fought an opponent like the Vietnamese, they beat the Japanese and the French, there were many lies told to us about the war, and Btw, students had every right to protest that war, who do you think stopped it, protests, although I don't agree with the way the troops were treated either by the protesters nor the VA who gave them substandard treatment.
mstrunn (1 год назад)
+anacowa221 That's not entirely true, there was a draft and if you were not doing good in school (college), based on your number you could be pulled out, and believe me there were students who were.

Georg Hieronymus I was raised on Hamilton Air Force Base as my father was the Base Commander, a decorated fighter pilot and squadron commander in WWII. He was devastated by what happened there. Lewis Young (2 года назад)
Larry Saladino Nixon was the President who announced he ordered troops into Cambodia on April 30, after running on a campaign to get America out of Southeast Asia, and most of these kids knew somebody who was eligible to be sent to Southeast Asia as cannon fodder to help bloat the Military Industrial Complex by fighting more wars, swaying elections, selling more weaponry, and getting news ratings. President Eisenhower, who commanded the European forces in the European Theater of Operations for World War 2, may have realized what a standing war department would do before he warned the American people to beware the insatiable hunger of the Military Industrial Complex during his last year as President.
Scuba314 (2 года назад)
A lot of these little shits causing the riots were not even students. They converged on the campus in order to cause chaos and mayhem, nothing more. Key thing to remember? When men with rifles show up to break up your illegal riots, don't throw rocks at them. Don't burn down pubic buildings (like the ROTC building you little shits burned down). Don't slash fire hoses intended for the fire fighters, and don't defy the law. You obviously learned your lessons the hard way.
Anomalous Host (6 месяцев назад)
@KEN SOLCH Boy, there's more perspective on this incident than that book. For example, the novel Thirteen Seconds: Confrontation at Kent State, by Michael D. Roberts and Joe Eszterhas. A novel written partly as a counterpoint to that very book you recommended.

If you can, it would be great.. Please do so this week....
Jerry Lee (8 месяцев назад)
All of the students murdered and wounded were KSU students. There is no evidence whatsoever that there was any undo outside influence on the students. Anyone stating there was is lying and should be ashamed. There was NEVER anyone held responsible for the burning of the ROTC building. In addition that did not take place the same time as the murders. You do not kill unarmed people in the back because someone else allegedly did sometime violent at another time. You are tragically flawed.
J.E. Rice (2 года назад)
Stuff You Should Know has an excellent podcast on the Kent State shootings that reveals how the protesters were not so innocent and the guardsmen were literally pushed into a corner by the protesters. There is also some suspicion of a photographer that was there who may have actually fired the first shots in order to provoke the guardsmen into shooting in self-defense, leading to the horrible tragedy.

+Lewis Young In 2007 Alan Canfora, one of the wounded, located a copy of a tape of the shootings in a library archive made by Terry Strubbe. Although not conclusive, it may have recorded 4 gun shots (or slamming doors) and orders for National Guard to shoot (or too garbled). The Kent State Truth Tribunal, was founded in 2010 by the family of Allison Krause, along with Emily Kunstler, to demand accountability by the United States government for the massacre. In 2014 KSTT announced their request for an independent review by the United Nations Human Rights Committee under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the human rights treaty ratified by the United States. There's more info on the mendocoastcurrent.wordpress.com - Mendo Coast Current which I'm too tired to look up. I and many others want to know the truth.

My brother was there that day, just going to classes; he was a straight arrow, never a protester. On that day he and my future SIL were attending their classes as usual. When they saw things were starting to heat up, my brother went to get my SIL from her class. He walked out a building, turned and was face-to-face with a National Guard with a gun pointed straight at him. The Guardsman hollered "What are you doing ??" My brother said "I'm just going to get my fiancee' " The Guardsman said "You just better turn around and go the other way, buddy, if you don't want to get shot !" My brother did as he was told, found his fiancee', and they called her father to come and pick them up at a safe location. I was 8 yrs old and in the 2nd grade. I came home from school to find the three of them sitting in the living room, and I was surprised. "What are you guys doing here ? You're supposed to be in school !" They explained that there had been rioting at KSU and they came home early. My Mom didn't want me to watch the news on TV that night, but I insisted; I wanted to know what was going on; I was old enough to understand things like that. Later on a beautiful summer day my brother took me along with him to KSU where he had to talk to a professor. Afterwards, he said to me, "Do you want to see the places where the riots happened ?" and I said "Yes !" He drove me around the campus; I remember seeing the pagoda, and he pointed out in the parking lot where Jeff Miller had been killed (something I will NEVER forget) ; and the other places where the other 3 had been killed. I remember asking my brother "Why did this happen ? What did these kids do ?" Frankly, I can't remember exactly what his answer was that day; but that event is something I will never forget, and I thank the Good Lord that my Brother did not die on that horrible day. Bless the KSU 4 - Never Forgotten !

hey Sue , see my post above... I did grad. in 1970 and was there and saw just about all. Can always talk on FB WHEN I get back from seditious and treasonous Zuck prison, around May 10 or 11.

mike mears. Huh? The fact is that the students were protesting a stupid war. The National Guard putting their lives on the line??? I understand the students might have gotten out of hand. But for the National Guard to just start shooting at weaponless people?? Come on.

I contacted a family member of one of the slain students. I asked her if she could tell me something nice about the student: their favorite color, their favorite actor, movie, birthday presents, something; anything. No, she wanted to keep the relative private. Since then, I have become disinterested. I no longer care as strongly as  I did. They now are just another casualty of Kent State. It is hard to feel sympathy for the family member. It is a 46 year old murder, and it is getting older; more vague and forgotten. If anyone out there knew any of the victims, could you please contact me and tell me something that would personalize them. Otherwise, they are old yearbook photos from an era long, long ago. I do care, but it is fading. These students should be remembered. Can anyone help?

I am currently a student at Kent State. You may consider coming to visit campus, we have the May 4 Visitors Center, Walking Tour, and the May 4 Resource Center on the first floor of the library. There’s also the university archives on the upper floors of the library. They may not have documents about the students who were killed but they definitely have documents that pertain to the reasons behind the shooting as well as the official university position on the shooting. And if any of you are wondering, no we the students of Kent State University are no longer mad about the shooting, we are not apologetic, and we do and always will remember those students killed. Every year the University closes between the hours of 12 and 2 pm on May 4 for a remembrance procession across campus from the gate at Lincoln and East Main Street on Front Campus to the Kent State Commons where the shooting took place and to the parking lot between Prentice Hall and Taylor Hall. Again, I encourage all of you, if possible, to come visit Kent State and remember that powerless college students with a different opinion than yours are not your enemy and we don’t want to hurt you, all we want is for you to respect our opinions, the United States of America is a free country and with that comes the fact that there will be different opinions that you do not agree with. That does NOT mean that you have the right to go out and attack others with differing opinions, or in the case of my university send in the national guard. That being said I realize that my generation or people of the same mindset as me must realize that we will not always win and that does NOT mean that we get to protest, riot, or disrupt the normal course of life. I will not apologize for my mindset and I do not expect you to apologize for yours. Please just understand that we all have different experiences and therefore different mindsets.

+Lewis Young Right, right. I read that Mendo Coast on the anniversary of the shootings this year. Thank you. I'll make sure it's on my document about Kent State. Yes. Her family and others have been active. And other students were killed at other campuses in the huge protests that followed. Contributed to the end of the VN War. Have you heard of follow up by the UN. It's never too late to have the truth and name it for what it is. Moving into our immediate political future, I see public expressions of dissatisfaction. Be well, safe and happy!

+Lewis Young The audio forensics are inconclusive, as it may have been doors slamming and there are four sounds some think were gun shots. I'm glad they located the audio tape in 2007. Some think it records direct orders for the National Guard to shoot. Others think the words are unintelligible. I have so much respect for the Krause family who honor Alison Krause and those slain and injured in their efforts to expose the truth. The Kent State Truth Tribunal, founded in 2010, is demanding accountability by the United States government for the massacre. In 2014 KSTT announced their request for an independent review by the United Nations Human Rights Committee under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the human rights treaty ratified by the United States.

I attended the may 4th commemoration today. First toured the site and stood on the hill by the little concrete umbrella and looked down on the parking lot and then down to the lot to stand where the 4 had been slain and looked back to the hill. The closest was around 100 feet and the furthest was around 350 feet. Still has the bullet hole in the metal sculpture just 20 or 30 feet from where the soldiers fired their rounds toward the kids. While there were some students at the service today, there was mostly the Black Lives Matter group and age appropriate seniors who were there or remembered it as incident that happened in their early years. I stood beside the guy who was wounded and has never walked since.  The mother of the Cleveland , Ohio teen who was shot while showing a realistic air soft pistol was there to speak, complete with black bodyguard types posted at 8 or 9 positions around the speaker's platform as if to protect her from.....who knows what.

United Nations? come on we don't need the UN here. What really happened? First of all, how old are you? Because if you are under 50 then you have know way of understanding what was going on at the time. We were engaged in an unpopular war that was also not going well. There was much social upheavel about it. Kids on a college campus were insulated from the real world and thought that how they acted in their dorms and little college towns like Kent, Ohio was somehow ok with the world. They believed that nothing they did would be held against them or put them in harm's way. The National Guard thought they were there to play army. They were for the most part just kid's themselves. They never went there thinking that it was going to be any more than a show of force and that the kids would back down. The rioting got worse everyday. Buildings were destroyed , windows broken...looting wasn't the object back then. The NG was down in a low spot on the other side of a hill from where the victems fell. I think that when they marched up that hill they never expected that many kids to be so close to them and throwing bottles and rocks. The kids never thought that the Guard had loaded weapons with actual lethal bullets. Because of the way the group of NG reacted , there must have been some talk as to the possibility of shooting. This from wikipedia : There were 28 soldiers who admitted to firing on top of the hill, 25 of these soldiers fired 55 rounds into the air and into the ground, two of the soldiers fired .45cal pistol shots, three into the crowd, and three into the air, one soldier fired birdshot into the air (James Russell was also hit with a shotgun's birdshot, some believe that some of the shot may have ricocheted off a tree and hit him).[6] The guardsmen fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis.[7][8]. As you can see , if the universal goal had been to hurt or kill as many as possible , then there would have been 50 or more killed or wounded. The guys that actually aimed and fired only actually hit several that were aimed at and the others were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. One of the dead was just walking to class...so that also tells you what the thinking of the students were. Supposedly one of the NG told a priest that several of the guard had discussed who to hit if it came to that. It was a horrible time and this was a horrible event. But, on a scale of what happens every weekend in Chicago about 1/5. I went there for that anniversary because I was at another school at the time of the riots. I wanted to see where it happened and "experience it". We had similiar riots but there were no kids shot...but that was luck. We had the same kinds of people with the same kinds of attitudes about life and their place in the order of things. They destroyed buildings on campus and broke out the windows uptown but had enough sense not to push their luck when the NG showed up. I don't mean this as trivial but to talk about a United Nations investigation, is just silly.

I would like to know the complete truth. Not to late to know the truth. Which is the government willfully murdered students. In 2014, the Kent State Truth Tribunal, requested an independent review by the United Nations Human Rights Committee under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the human rights treaty ratified by the United States.

brian campbell Jeffrey Miller was the closest protestor to the killers, and he was more than 70 yards away. Alison Krause, who just wanted to put flowers in the guns was over 100 yards away when she was murdered as a human sacrifice to the Military Industrial Complex President Eisenhower had tried to warn America about, in one of his last speeches as President. Sheuer and Schroeder were just walking between classes, and were 130 yards away when they were murdered.

I remember like it was yesterday. never been so fucking mad in my life.American soldiers murdered unarmed American college students. not because they were in imminent danger or because someone made a mistake, they were pissed when the wind shifted and blew the tear gas back on them. they were pre-programmed and told that these were communist that needed to be made an example of.had a draft card too. 1A number 33. my ass was done in 72 but they stopped call ups in 73

Jeanne Koopman Chrissie Hynde, who went on to front The Pretenders was also there, as were Gerald Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh, who went to found Devo. Hynde and Devo went on to work with Neil Young, who wrote Ohio, which is one reason America still rrmembers. Two students at Jackson State (Mississippi) were also gunned down for protesting about the same time, but most people never heard of that Jackson State Massacre.

+Krebons1200 Um, I quoted history, not so sure what else I can quote.  If you are ignorant, or slept thru history class, that's not my problem.  You also probably think a bunch of white people hopped a boat and invaded Africa for slaves, and that there were no white slaves, nor black slave owners. You probably believe the Holocaust never happened either, right?  Cant help you there, dickhead. Go ahead and think the protesters were unarmed, I dont care.  I know history, and am educated.  These days, teen-agers like you think history is "rayciss and sheeit"
Krebons1200 (2 года назад)
+tellurye I don't have to do anything. You're the one making the claim, you have to back it up. And right now, your failure to back it up tells me you're either pulling this stuff out of your ass, or you know you have a bad source. Which is it?
Krebons1200 (2 года назад)
+tellurye Can you provide your research? Because currently you're just telling me hippies were preparing to duke it out with the national guard, and expect me to take it seriously. Where's your evidence, because the video clearly states they were unarmed.
