You would easily have time for everything: work, hobbies, friends, and family or just lazing around doing nothing at all. But enough dreaming, let's get back to reality. The only way to make it happen is by sleeping less, but would that actually work without turning you into a tired grouch? All jokes aside, I definitely became more productive, and I have a lot of spare time that allows me to do everything I want and even more. On the other hand, it can be difficult since the whole world is on a completely different regimen. Your friends and family might think it’s weird when you tell them you can't go out with them or ask them to pause a movie so you can take a nap. In any case, it's your choice to make. Worked 10pm to 6am 4 days a week. Took 3 teenagers to school - home - sleep 4 hours then pick up kids make dinner help with homework then back to work. At work i had 20 to 40 minute breaks. Exercised , studied, took up meditation and on days off slept till waking on own. Absolutely loved it. Then became self employed and able to sleep 12am-5am. Have a son who sleeps 6 hours per night and a daughter who sleeps 10 hours per night. Amazing how different we are

Ok so nothing to do with sleep, but I find procrastinating is the BIG - kryptonite for productivity (in my life anyway) and i have found to combat this - and I know this sounds too simple.... but using an awareness affirmation “JUST DO IT” saying it 10x’s at night before sleep and 10x’s in the morning into a mirror.... that way when I know I need to do something and Netflix’s or YouTube ect..... (my greatest procrastination tools) seems to feel like a nicer option.... it’s doesn’t because the whole time I am procrastinating I hear that sentence “Just do it” going around my mind and it bugs me until I’ve done it.... and I when I do mess around on YouTube (like now) or Facebook or want to relax watching Netflix’s I can actually enjoy it knowing I’ve gotten the “just do it” things done. Not sure about Polyphasic sleep (questioning whether to try it or not)? In two minds really. But the affirmation “JUST DO IT” as helped me a lot. So thought I’d just say incase it can help someone else.

I'm force to sleep only 4 hours (sometimes 5) because of my job (I'm a teacher)... I don't get the bloodshot eyes... but I don't get any naps in between or anything and I'm always tired

I agree with Igor. After 4 hours I am wide awake. I use this opportunity to check if security wise everything is ok around the house. Then will battle to sleep again and end up getting another hour and even dream. Guesse we are all different.

i sleep around 4-5 hours a night for years and once a week i sleep for a looong time without an alarm clock. i used to rest in the afternoon but i dont have time for that anymore. while i do get more hours a day, i found that it requires alot more work to not gain weight. 8 hours sleep is very important for that. 2-3 hours seems like a bit too extreme. it makes me feel like an old tired zombie.

There is a huuuuge downside. If you only sleep 2 instead of the normal 8 hours a day, you age faster. Your day will only have 18 hours instead of 24 hours on a normal schedule. You lack 6 hours of a day. this means after 4 days you are 24hours, a whole day, older than everyone else. In a month you roughly age 7 days faster. A whole week! in a year that would be 7*12. You age 84 days every year faster than everyone you know. after 5 years you've lost a whole year!!!!

They had us like that in basic training. No way you can live like that for a long time. In the third phase people were bobbing their heads while standing waiting in line for chow. If people were falling asleep standing imagine driving in that state of mind.

I watched simply to hear the experience. My biggest question...not answered...if you only half a 30 minute lunch break...how/when do you nap? Even an hour lunch break would be hard to lunch/nap. Which implies lunch OR napping is on the clock. Whats your boss this of that?...

I think its possible to hack your deep sleep with melatonin or magnesium and then increase your nutrients with superfoods and vitamins during the day. You can substitute less sleep with more nutrition to help the body repair and recover making the lack of sleep less detrimental. Its just about understanding the bodies energy mechanisms. Hydration is important and eating the right foods and right quantities to avoid expending a lot of energy on digestion.

4-5 hours is what I usually get during the week, I barely need an alarm clock anymore since I naturally wake up a couple minutes before it, but then it feels like my body is "catching up on sleep" during weekends where I usually wake up after 7-8 hours

I have been doing research on this topic lately. I have never required much sleep and in fact when forced to sleep more than what I feel I need I actually feel sluggish, emotional and just plain yuck. It wasn't until my youngest son started doing the same recently that I really started looking into this. I'm happy to say that since we decided to just listen to our bodies we have been healthier, happier, productive and his learning capacity has speed higher than ever.

I have slept 3-4 hours per night for many years. I have visited my doctor once since leaving school 30 years ago for a work related hernia. I have an abundance of energy with zero naps and the equivalent food intake of 3 meals every two days. 8 hour sleep and 3 meals per day are both human 1.0 requirements.

I always feel like I'm some odd one out amoungst everyone I know, but looking at comments on here not so much... I average around 5 hrs sleep a day, normally go to the gym 3 days a week doing weights, drive an hour to work each way everyday & also work shift work which rotates weekly. My problem is simply turning my brain off & waking up every 2-3 hrs. I could go to bed a 6pm, have to get up at 4am & still only get like 6hrs sleep max. Most days I feel alright & great on my gym days. But there's always that annoyance of lying in bed for uo to 2 hrs trying to fall asleep.

Thank you This is the best video I have ever seen My age is 16 years and since a month I sacrificed my sleep (3-4)hrs for study because I have to attend 4 classes and 6hr college per day I was worried about the side effects that people Told me such as heart attack, memory loss,,,,,.... I've been doing this almost every day for 10 years... Plenty of times I've stayed up for 48+ hours. At least once or twice a month I have a 30 hour day. I'll sleep when I'm dead.

It depends on everyone’s body. Some bodies will adapt and other will not. However, we should know our bodies extremely well from head to toe in order to be able to determine if you will adapt to certain atmospheres or life changes. This will work for someone people not everyone so please heaters stop complaining and get to work.

mess with your circadian rhythms at your own risk. Go easy on this kinda thing, get up earlier and exercise, see if that helps.

I only sleep four hours some times less and never drained or tired, been like that all my life usually only need 2 hours i feel like a freak. Have no problems focusing and productive life im always happy That said i wouldn't recommend people try this, for me happened naturally as a child. I eat healthy foods no junk food or sodas. I only drink water and vegetarian diet,

just sleep your 8 hours before you get a cancer or tumor because of this sleep cycles. the fact! >>>> God created day and night for a reason, day you work night you sleep! if you human trying to be smarter than God then think again! In Religion says people stop waking up at night and going out there are creatures looming the earth at night and they disappear at day where you wake up to start your day! Imagine that early 6 clock cold oxygen with cup of coffee and awesome breakfast then by 6 pm tired feeling did a good job and ready for dinner and then the amazing moment of falling a sleep and do it again. This is the healthy life. its me 6 to 6. ;)

I have been doing this 20 years it just sort of slipped in to it felt better now I’m getting a little older I sometimes lye in on a weekend and sometimes that can take a day or two recover from wouldn’t change it ever 3 naps per day of 20 mins would recommend it to all.
