That was so relaxing to watch I forgot about my stress When they mentioned death Lol I stress my self to the point of unstressed I’m was stressed in the womb And everyday after that til this day The body cells die and renewed If your cells are not regenerating It’s photo coping the same structure So to trigger regeneration of me cells there must be a 360 degree life change You adapt to your new environment and you trigger new genes

I really like the idea of including family, in this type of testing. Not to mention that I am actually learning more of my demise...manic depression, which stress is involved. Thank you professor!

My massage teacher LY all but assured me that that was how I would die because I was apparently getting into a puss fight with a skunk, whoever she meant. That's exactly whats happening now. I am dying from it literally, although others can't see it. Looks like she was right! It is the perfect way to kill someone. Please note this everyone. I had also just left a job with my narc ex best friend and my ex and parents also found me to be a threat cops won't help me, and I understand someone is now afraid they will be caught and have staged dirt to smear me and isolate me from everyone. My ex BS has also repeatedly been mentioned. And I understand money is what was kept from me and someone wants me dead. 602-885-7665. Can't even get help from those who know what's being done to me.

HOLY SHIT The same guy in this is in the video I just posted. I never knew that. LOL My friend and I are having a Capitalist Socialist debate, which spilled into human nature, male vs. female and I said it was more learned because at birth you can't tell who is more aggressive. And it is only after interacting with caregivers who are here that the infant gets it's cues and she gave me this video to watch. I was trying to point out that capitalism kills just as badly if not worse than socialism and of course I got the billions thrown back at me by psychotic dictators. It's funny that the guy is in both "our" video proofs LOL

I believe human flourishing will never be accomplished in the earth because whereever the so called white man dominates whose bilibical name is Esau he is a very hateful destructive subject that needs to experience r understand what others go thru by their insensitivity of others looking different & deemed lower then themselves. Esau = Edom= Edomites= Idumeans who r ruling in the earth assumed names like Caucasian r white when their very biblical name means red r fading away. Creating this manufactured race alone is deceiving especially in the university & work setting where they r looked upon as the upper echelon while looking down on others. I called it the black / white paradigm. When observing these so called white privileged ppl who r a proud because of their conquering tactics of others they think r less then them creates high blood pressure, anxiety, & a whole host of illnesses on what they would called the lesser populations.

I think the higher rank bamboos died for eating the meat from the waste land not because of their susceptibility to TB but because they didn't allow the lower rank ones to eat. I wished that was made more clear!
Bhupinder Tube (4 месяца назад)
Higher rank ones aren't much effected by the stress, so in order to make others weaker they induce stress to others. Since lower rank ones are more susceptible to stress, their immune system weakens, makes/keep them physically weak so that the higher rank ones could stay in power longer. It all makes sense. It's like the more fat you have the more alcohol you can drink, the more muscle you have the more stress hormones you can stand. Remember, in animal kingdom, higher rank one decline was they start getting older.

1.The hen pecked man makes the asshole boss. 2. "You gotta serve somebody" 3. Don't give up too much of yourself to your co-workers, it might come back to bite you. 4. How many "things" do you actually need? 5. In the end you are really alone - get used to it. 6. You never truly know anybody. 7. The choices we make early in life set the table for what comes later. 8. When your mind stops growing, you die. 9. The idea that you have a special "love" or need to find your "passion" in order to be fulfilled as a human being is a dangerous myth. 10. The mass media is scientifically designed to alter your behaviour.

so interesting, to me, how many people take away a "we must kill the ones at the top in order to thrive" message from this video...which is not only is NOT what the science here actually shows, but actually goes against what the video tells us. it actually shows that our own attitude about where we are in any hierarchy has MUCH more to do with our level of stress and therefore our health. our own personal life experience/filter through which we take in info from this video, and/or any other info, must play a huge role in how we interpret it...i guess that's the key word right there..."interpret". anyway, the video makes sense to me intellectually, and "rings true" for me emotionally. i came across this video by accident, but i'm def now curious enough to find more of prof Sapolsky's work and check it out. i really enjoy watching him...both his research and the fact that he shared and involved his wife and especially their kids. very cool. all, of course, in my humble opinion. :)

I want to know how many generations it will take for the larger more aggressive bully type male baboons to be born in the frequency of which would yield a development of this new social paradigm in regards to sapolsky's baboon Troop? Or whether or not that's going to happen at all? Perhaps it won't happen frequently enough to have much of an effect on the phenotype expressions that continue to be prevalent on words into the future?
Greeley Miklashek (5 месяцев назад)
How ironic, Sapolsky is his own best experiment. What is so different about his Stanford lifestyle, which he compares with his African sojurnes? Population density, level of physical exercise, healthy diet, hierarchical position, and, perhaps most importantly, direct contact with nature in the raw. Could he be describing the very issue his scientific work has always avoided: population density stress? Sapolsky apparently has never read the work of biologists before him who conducted hundreds of experiments on animal crowding: Calhoun, Southwick, Christian, etc. Sad. In the end Sapolsky is just another reductionist over-focused arrogant academic. He seems to gain no insight into his own selfstudy, comparing his own life experience between crowded, over-populated, nature-alienated, highly stress filled Palo Alto homebase, and his life in Africa. He describes this contrast on his video, but has no insight into its scientific implications. Want the whole story? Read "Stress R Us" on Amazon Books.

So what? Go out in a gym, exercise those muscles, restore the blood flow, when breathing emphasize the exhale so your inner organs deflate and restore their normal circulation. That is what hemorrhoids are, basically an area where the anus has lost normal blood flow, in case of an operation the doctor makes an incision to put them back in.

"the problem in our society is that we don't value stress reduction. we in fact value the opposite: we admire the person who not only multitasks and does two things at once, but does five things at once. we kinda admire that person, 'how do they manage that?', you know. well that's an incredibly stressful way to live. we have to change our values and value people who understand a balanced and serene life." so much truth to this

[Mathew 5:8] “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” When speaking about the HEART, (soul) as meant in the Gospels we are speaking of a Person [1 Peter 3:4] “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price” The heart is the person that represents each and every one the moment of death when the body is left behind and the soul exits the body. This is the heart/soul upon which Lord Jesus will restore man “to body and soul” again at His Second Coming according to each person deeds. [Galatians 6:7-8] “7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The heart/soul, however is ill-begotten and in need of a therapy! [Matthew 15-19] “FOR OUT OF THE HEART PROCEED EVIL THOUGHTS MURDERS ADULTERIES FORNICATIONS THEFTS FALSE WITNESS BLASPHEMIES” Furthermore vainglory, ego, envy, hatred, lustiness stinginess and greed are equally strong passions that siege the heart (self-will) and force the mind (body) in the unnatural act of sin. Being that the heart repents man (Person) after death it is said by the Holy Fathers that the mind and the heart is one and the same thing! Lord Jesus (who is God Logo became the "head of His body the Church" 2000 years ago enabled this way those baptized TO BE REDEEMED FROM ALL SIN (only God can forgive sins) and become MEMBERS OF HIS BODY! [Α Colossians 1:18] “He is the head of his body, the Church; He is the source of the body’s life” http://orthodoxinfo.com/general/stjohn_church.aspx This is the reason why the Holy Fathers each that Lord Jesus did not come to teach philosophically but the therapeutically in order to aid man returning to Gods presence to become a god by the Grace of God a part take with God known as Holy, New Creation New Adam ot heavenly Kingdom. (Luke 17:21) No one will say, “Look here it is”! Or, “There it is!” because the Kingdom of God is within you”. (1 Corinthians 3 :16) Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God”? (2 Corinthians: 4:6). “God makes His Light shine in our hearts, to bring us the knowledge of God’s glory shining in the face of Christ. According to the teachings of the Holy Fathers of the Greek Orthodox Church the center of a person’s self-conscience is not the brain or the nervous system but it is the heart because of having a certain supernatural function (union with God) is capable of. Under the correct circumstances, it becomes an area of communion with God through His Divine Grace. When the Orthodox Monks pray they do not look upward but downward toward their hearts where they hope to witness the Divine Glory of God and get to know Him personally and get revelation. A Mount Athos monk Saint Nicodemus (+1809) in his work “Counseling manual”, names the heart as “a natural center” that is supernatural but at the same time paranormal when the supernatural function stagnates because the heart is ceased by passions. This supernatural function of the heart sets the preconditions for perfection, the completion of man, his deification and his full integration into society in Christ. On the Will of God: St. Silouan of Mount Athos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaTpBTfiyYA God bless us all

After 3 major panic attack episodes that landed me in the ER in my early 40's...and take note, I had never prior to this had an anxiety attack... I learned that because of chronic stress that had occurred in my life recently, my stress hormone levels were likely at dangerous constant levels. I also was experiencing early-mid level peri-menopause (pre-menopause). So, a combo of the psychological stress in my life creating Cortisol and Adrenaline perhaps combined with peri-menopause hormones fluctuating... I was severely depressed and my body was experiencing a physical toll. The solution: ER Docs solution was to put me on anti-anxiety meds...because I did not have medical insurance to see a doctor at the time. It was a generic form of Atavan/Lorazepam type low dose...very addictive unfortunately I had panic attacks weaning myself from them- scary withdrawals on low dose even for me who only took it around every other day for fifteen to nineteen days while I did online internet research to figure out what was really wrong with me. After learning about Magnesium and why our bodies need it...I conducted my own experiment with supplements below to find a natural /no addiction side effects route to curing my symptoms. Once I did have Obama care, I went and saw a cardiologist and had a month long of wearing the heart monitor, then getting EKG, Heart sonogram and stress test...I was told by the doc he would put me on calcium channel blockers if I was experiencing too much heart palpitations that scared me...and heart rhythm issues. I opted during the month that I began wearing the heart monitor to continue the magnesium and add the CoQ10 for my heart (but not all are created the same...so read on...) Supplements: I was able to help my heart issues by cutting back on all caffeine for some time (no caffeine, no coffee, tea, sodas, chocolates etc)...taking CoQ10 for my heart rhythm issues and heart palpitations that troubled me. I took a Cal-mag citrate with vitamin D combo supplement initially...but worked up the Magnesium citrate at low levels at first and worked up to taking around 500 mg/daily a couple days then backed off...due to low blood pressure I naturally have...finding a good balance was around 400-425mg daily. Noticeable difference after 6 weeks of that ....I could sleep through the night again. No problems with insomnia. Handled stress much better. Was able to exercise again and not experience anxiety/panic attacks coming on when stress hormones increased as the magnesium allowed my body to shut them off immediately when they were triggered and then all resolved fine. Also along with supplements, I improved my diet with more foods higher in magnesium and some potassium and again no caffeine...NOTE: much later I did reintroduce caffeine when my stress levels of life were at normal levels ...after the initial stress person causing the problem was removed from the picture. I was able to enjoy a little caffeine here and there without heart palpitations and without insomnia issues. So long as I continued on the supplements. Today I am 47 and benefiting from continued daily intake of Coq10 -100 w/reversitrol (Dr. Sinatra's brand) and no longer need daily magnesium at all...I eat foods that have it in them and seem to get enough for my daily dose presently since my stress hormones are likely much lower. My current life circumstances not so intense, rather calm and secure. So I am breaking from that added expense of daily supplementation and only occasionally will take 200-300 daily magnesium again if I notice I have a couple nights of lack of good sleep. By the way...Its recommended to take the magnesium in parts...maybe not more than 200 mg at a time to avoid any potential side effects of too much relaxing...lowering blood pressure to much etc. If taken in 2 or 3 doses late in the day (when you want to begin to unwind for the night) it helps sleep wonderfully. Take doses at least 2 hours apart to avoid all at once reaction. If driving is stressful...take it an hour or 90 minutes before you need to drive somewhere...to allow your mind to relax and not be over anxious. It will prevent driving related panic attacks. Why take it so early? Because as with most supplements it takes one hour to digest and absorb it to notice the effects. So its not immediate. If you have loose bowels already then the citrate form is likely not for you. Try Magnesium glycerinate which is also easily absorbable into the body...the cheap brand of magnesium oxide you can get in multi-vitamins is worthless. Get a magnesium only supplant or perhaps a multi-mineral supplement made by Blue Bonnet brand...or some type of low calcium, magnesium and vitamin D combo...most people do not need as much calcium as they get it in tums/anti-acid type things...and too much is not good for the body as it lands in the soft tissues and not the bones if you are lacking in vitamin D or magnesium or K2 in the diet to steer the calcium to the bones where it belongs. I hope this helps someone who is suffering from PTSD...or panic attacks or high depression/anxiety issues, insomnia etc. I share my personal story to help others and I hope it helps someone in need. Because I totally understand how helpless and hopeless I felt going through that time in my life and learning this research about supplements and their benefits to help me and give me renewed hope was so empowering and encouraging and then when it actually worked ...WOW...I just say its like a whole new life. Praise God for answered prayer... May this be the beginning of your healing journey. There is hope.

What no-one wants to consider is that our over-active stress response, which is lethal indeed, may be considered to be a human population regulation mechanism, as it has long been understood in crowded animal researches. Check out my newly published book, "Stress R Us" on Amazon. Good luck!

How do you define western?... we are mortal...any sample is skewed .. and any statement in relation causes an inappropriate evaluation of perception in any individual exposed to the statement, as every individuals perception is somewhat unique. Not a fan of this Sapolsky guy... am not interested in enticing you to "unplug" and set you up for disaster to be ruled in driven passion, and ignorance, by anyone ignorant enough to so drive you; while claiming to represent a better way than "western".... finding time to enjoy the simple parts of life is good... simplifying to the point of being set against the act of thinking or evaluating... is most certainly not. don't devalidate good will... do not revalidate saying any joy is weakness... ignorance bliss... or developing control over our natural tendencies forbidden knowledge..... do Not devalidate good will.... do not devalidate the pursuit of knowledge, love of industry ... family.. ... country... love of life.

If all the stories I've heard about the way Native Americans and pretty much all indigenous tribes lived was the way the professor found happened to the baboons. They had it right and most the world has it wrong. I think if we are to thrive we need to live more the way they had so wisely chose to live.
