Don’t bring a religion or personal beliefs into a medical care.

Religion once again causing trouble, Science is progress, and it saves more lives than prayer.

He should not be a pharmacist.
Benny Ballard (28 дней назад)
I don’t see the problem. The man got to practice his beliefs and the woman got her medication. That’s how it’s supposed to work here in America. A win-win situation.
Adam (27 дней назад)
Benny Ballard he refused to give the woman her medication cause she had a miscarriage
Tommy Cease (28 дней назад)
Really pharmacist? Do you also think that the Saudi Arabia government didn't cut up that journalist. You do know that people will be checking your past behavior and you will never find employment as a pharmacist except for maybe in Saudi Arabia...
ThatLadyDray (28 дней назад)
His religious beliefs are against providing medicine? SMH the woman already experienced the loss of the pregnancy but this guy just made the experience that much worse .

This woman is disgusting...she could have had her doctor transfer the prescription....I smell a load of "look at me" with a dash of "I want money"....

Pharmacists should NEVER have the power to deny a medicine that a medical doctor prescribed. I hope that pharmacist gets what he deserves.

Daniel Tibbot (28 дней назад)
Unethical, immoral and illegal. The pharmacist had no religious grounds either. It was already miscarried.
zen man (28 дней назад)
This pharmacist wasn't sleazeball and because he did not pass it on to another pharmacist or transfer it and because of the emotional trauma he caused he was fired

Oh rubbish, what man describes themselves as a Catholic male? I do not believe her and how do you complete a miscarriage? Either you miscarried or did not.
Trogdor (28 дней назад)
The fetus died but her uterus was still maintaining the pregnancy. She needed the medicine to expel the fetus and placenta. My sister found out her babies were dead the day she was getting the ultrasound to find out the gender of what the doctors thought was one baby. Turns out it was twins and when she looked at the ultrasound she said it looked like her baby was reaching out to her. The one baby looked like it might have been a boy, while the other had died weeks earlier and hadn't developed genitalia yet. I give this detail to illustrate how long a pregnancy can be held on to after fetal death. She was devastated. 16 years later and she still says that image haunts her. It was made especially traumatic after she had to wait 2 day to get the babies removed at planned parenthood. She cried and begged for It to be done that day. For 2 days, she carried 2 dead fetuses in her body and there was nothing she could do about it. That's mental and emotional torture. And it could have made her ill as the fetal tissue decayed. No woman should be forced to talk about the trauma of a miscarriage to justify the medicine needed to remove the fetus, and they certainly shouldn't be denied the medicine and have to carry a dead fetus even longer. Unless there is a pharmaceutical reason, doctors' scripts should be filled.
MUTE8 (28 дней назад)
There IS a law that states pharmacist right of refusal.  pharmacist is convinced that filling a prescription is not in the best interest of the patient, due to an allergy or contraindication, the pharmacist may be under a professional duty to refuse to fill, at least until he or she contacts the prescriber to resolve the question.
Adam (27 дней назад)
MUTE8 it’s the duty of the doctor to know all about the patient before prescribing medicine
Adam (27 дней назад)
MUTE8 that’s for the doctor to decide not the pharmacist
Arcaneus Umbra (28 дней назад)
Thats for the health of the patient, not the religious beliefs of the pharmacist
I O (28 дней назад)

Lightening strikes the pharmacist's house and sets it on fire. When the fire department arrives, the captain says, "I'm sorry, sir, but the god Thor struck your house with set your house on fire. It is our sincerely held religious belief that fires started by Thor must be allowed to burn. Therefore, we will not put out your house, nor will we call another fire department to put out your house." And before you say anything, remember -- my Norse Pantheon of Gods is just as real as this guys bearded man in the sky.

Amber Doll The very unstable society is what we are in now, it is interesting how vast amounts of previous civs did not complain about this. If modern feminism and many recent things that favored women did not contribute to it, then I would not have mentioned it, but sadly they have. Men will be going to college less and less in the further and this will heavily impact society if men are not working. What you and others like you fear is what many men fear right now and ironically sympathize extreme methods that favor men. If you want to call me "sexist" despite the fact society heavily favors women then sure. I can see why people radical about survival tend to have power or have sympathy. Society may change and it is ok gradually, but focusing on reproduction instead of trying to make women super moms (stressing them out with both work and a mother's duty) when it is already stressful for people without kids. I hate how kids in some other nation could go to school for like 3 hours and they supposedly have a better learning system whereas ours kids are made to learn as though they are in a factory (instead if each kid learning to their comfort level) Society will change because there will be not much resources in the future. Me caring about survival, wonders if this nation will even be a nation up until people go back to tribes or kingdoms to try to make things work. Kinda like how things broke down for decent civs and people focused in the basics until things were more than stable to try to do anything else.
tart70 (28 дней назад)
Amber Doll By not supporting the birth rate is what caused this problem, and it will be even more noticeable as the baby boomer generation leaves the market with no replacement for their positions. 1. A lot of men in the West have infertility issues (low sperm count) 2. A lot of women have challenges having children 3. Plenty of women are choosing to have children later 4. Plenty of women choose to abort children 5. Pollution contributes to infertility 6. Health issues easily occur from drugs and medication 7. Having a kid today apparently is treated as a bad idea The hand maid's tale is a fantasy looking at say the Iranian revolution and other religious extremism, what did not occur in reality was such a low infertility that people had to make that an excuse. Unlike the hand maid's take this is called survival which humans did for eons. Contributing to it is what I was getting at. You will ironically get a hand maid's tale by forcing people to take extreme methods to ensure survival at whatever cost. As of now, because our society is not focusing on reproduction a more serious society will not be as tolerant about liberal issues when it comes to life and death. If people allowed this when humanity was in the brink of extinction then we would have been extinct right now. So you are concerned about a hand maid's tale which has more order than a full blown anarchy, and if you keep causing crap with men it will be a full blown androgynous society way more than the hand maid's tale. I highly doubt people who are more connected about resources and survival will be bringing up "rights". It is either contribute or go some where else. Modern feminism sadly was that symptom, promoting the idea of women working making two paychecks (no longer supporting a family on one income), empower women to the point where it is legal to abort unborn kids whilst forcing men to go along with her decision, influencing women have children way later in life assuming technology will make things possible, turn marriage which was prestigious and something people wanted to do into something to avoid thanks to no fault divorce. Sigh, you are worried about women, and here I am worried about humanity as a whole. There are a lot of men who don't desire to be around a woman thanks to the culture that is promoted, so if you really were about respect if this is what you were implying then try both sides, and maybe there wouldn't be a hand maid's tale. Otherwise it will happen, or worse a society that would not give a care about women. My suggestion and solution is put the US back where it was stable or don't worry about effects because we may just see it first hand if this keeps happening. You can not properly stabilize an economy on a bad foundation which we have. First focus on the basic stucture said of society and make sure they are motivated and able to contribute and rest is history. I am not interested in proving who is wrong, I am stating that if this is not dealt with, this will be inevitable due to nature and survival.
Amber Doll (28 дней назад)
+tart70 Again, of we start at the foundation of fixing the economy so that people can afford children, then we would likely see an increase in childbirth. I am not supporting decisions based on the potential lack of births, that's how the Handmaid's Tale started, and I see far too much evidence from the religious group that it is a plotline they'd like to turn into reality. In addition, if we cannot afford to raise children now, how could we afford to support more?
Bosco Bob (29 дней назад)
Let's see how this pharmacist feels when his wife is laying on a gurney, bleeding to death in an emergency room, and the trauma tech refuses to run to the blood bank because he is Jehovah's Witness and doesn't believe in blood transfusions. If you are working in the health care field, your -"religious delusions"- beliefs have to be left outside in the parking lot. As a former Trauma Tech, there were times that it would have been easy for me to press my personal beliefs but when a person's life hangs in the balance, my personal beliefs don't mean squat!
Adam (27 дней назад)
tart70 religious beliefs have no place in this business.
Adam (27 дней назад)
tart70 your examples don’t justify for religious beliefs
Adam (27 дней назад)
tart70 do the pharmacist prescribe the drugs? No. They do what the doctor says
tart70 (27 дней назад)
Adam And the pharmacist get I believe a Ph.D. for what reason? To deal with drugs and medication which is at his or her call. They do turn down an interaction if they believe it can endanger a life , such as drug addicts getting pain killers or other prescribed to use as is or alter it. They have at times saved lives from the very prescriptions the doctor made. If things like still birth/miscarriages were understood kinda like how the FBI idea in the Kavanaugh hearing went, they people would've reacted differently. You are not helping expecting people to oblige when many people care about the unborn child and this turned political when Roe. v Wade was ruled legal half a century ago. What many people see when abortion comes up is an immoral person who could barely give a crap. The most appalling thing was to force majority of people who did not agree to accept something against their wish. So yeah the pharmacist should have a say, because in the future people will be stressing births instead of abortion. I may not agree with his decision but he earned it through academics and hard work. Doctors have done the same thing and doctors have also ended lives that could have been easily prevented if they took it seriously. Like one person stated about a hospital "go in for a paper cut, come out with an amputated arm". Got nothing against doctors

Hunny go to another pharmacy with the written prescription! Such a victim!
Jacob Weber (28 дней назад)
Adrienne King How about you check the facts? Meijer requires the prescription to be transferred if such a case comes up. Also, she did receive the medication from another Meijer. So why is this even a problem?
Adrienne King (29 дней назад)
Chosen One....The pharmacist refused to return the prescription or to transfer it to another pharmacy. Maybe you should learn ALL the facts before forming your sarcastic response.
Connie Leighton (29 дней назад)
And it starts, this is just the beginning of the rights intentions to make it as hard as possible for women to seek safe medical help...VOTE,VOTE,VOTE.
tart70 (28 дней назад)
The "start" although Roe v Wade which is still political over how it all occurred bothers people was really the start, unless one wants to mention eugenics which abortion was used. The Right I believe cares about the population, as in, having enough people to maintain it, so there is a nation. The US is below the birth rate maintenance level, 2.1.
Adron Lamb (29 дней назад)
The word Pharmakaia is translated from Greek in the Bible and is equivalent to pharmaceutical drugs. Pharmacists are modern day drug dealers for sorcerers who work for huge corporations making mind and body altering drugs. Say like Ambien, seems pleasant until it kills you

How can he not understand as a pharmacist that it's not abortion if she already miscarried? It seems like he was using religion as an excuse to deny her medical care because he could. If this wasn't true he would have done what he was supposed to do which is have another pharmacist fill it and/or transfer her prescription.
Adam (27 дней назад)

tart70 (28 дней назад)
Maybe he seen the possibility of "inducing abortion" as the determining factor. I believe he strongly wants on his conscience to not have a part in possibly killing a kid if he believed it was still alive. For example, would you give anyone an item if you had a gut feeling they may do something bad with it? If he had a gut feeling with every client he had he barely would be a pharmacist. What you and others may have seen as a dead child he may have seen as possibly alive still. Yeah I can agree he could have referred her to another pharmacist or another pharmacy where it was provided

I know right it's not like people of color have ever had to deal with unnecessary problems from white people ever, in our lives. Somehow we just deal with it, without making problems we smile and make them feel comfortable. We grit our teeth, holding back the things that we wish we could say because we don't want to start a scene. But white woman always love starting a scene. Everyday there's a white woman crying about something on NBC news, yesterday it was that white woman who wouldn't let that black guy into his own apartment. Just mind your own business

Gregor Samsa 🤔 And let's say they get wounded or fall ill, should doctors most of whom are religious refuse treatment? Many people still see it as abortion and maybe if things were explained better, people may approach it differently.

Do you know the facts? He has the right not to feel it but he also had to have it off to another pharmacist which he refused to do then after that when she asked for it to be sent to another Pharmacy he refused okay if that it was sent to the pharmacy that pharmacist refused to do it in-house and also to send it to another pharmacist she was out of town at this time she had to call off her trip and go home see her doctor again get a prescription right away and get it filled at another this was a lot of drama for a family who just lost their child a lot of hurt caused buy a Christian who was fired because he did not follow the pharmacies guidelines

Don't work at a pharmacy if you have religious issues. Petoskey is where Hemingway lived for many years. A summer home for Chicagoans.
